How I quit smoking in 30 days part 1
My Journey: How I Quit Smoking in 30 Days,
Hello, my name is Dr. Shahzad and I am a doctor as a profession. I started smoking 3 years ago in 3rd year of MBBS and with time I got addicted to smoking. I tried to quit it many times but I failed. I became dependent on smoking mentally, emotionally, and physically. Due to smoking my relationships started getting problems and I was very worried. I went into depression and I was helpless and then I decided to quit smoking and start a new life.
We all know that quitting any addiction is not so easy and it requires a lot of dedication and control on your self. I am going to divide these 30 days into 4 parts so that I can completely share my story. Maybe my story can help you to quit smoking.
Day 1–7 the initial stage:
In the first week, I started preparation and also focused on the problems that I was going to face because quitting any addiction is not so easy. I set a quit date, allowing myself ample time to mentally and emotionally prepare for my journey. I started working on finding the root cause of my smoking addiction and after research, I got to know that I started smoking basically due to my friends. Therefore, first of all, I stopped meeting with my smoker friends and also started reducing the number of cigarettes per day.
Day 8–14 developing resistance:
In the initial few days, I encountered the challenge of managing cravings. Staying busy and engaged in activities that brought me joy became my primary defense against smoking cravings. I started regular exercise and building a strong relationship with my family helped me a lot. I started rewarding myself daily and started reducing the number of cigarettes per day. I tried to create a momentum that fueled my journey forward easily and happily.
